Plants & Animals

In Panama, I live in the rainforest community of Boquete…..where 950 species of birds (more than US, Canada and Europe combined) live.    Abundant tropical plants prevail including heliconia of all types, birds of paradise and of course, the hundreds of orchid types.

In Ecuador, I live in the dry foothills of the Andes…..not as many birds or plants, but still a beautiful place.

Below are the plants and animals (and insects) I have encountered…..

Strange bug also on my BBQ grill cover....I'm told this black plastic attracts these insects because they think they cannot be seen.

Baby Howler Monkies are often left as orphans when their moms are electrocuted on electric wires that run through the jungles. My friends in Boquete rescue them and release them into a new tribe.
